We just bought a new Kubota tractor. Has a front end bucket for loading dirt, ect. New toys for boys. Not many books out with man toys in it.

What about hot air balloons?
Vegetable gardens, not much done on this topic. A whole lot of gardeners out in the world.

What about a sunset theme. Ya know? When I think of spring or summer, I think of a beautiful serene sunset at a beach. Or, something with possibly some swans in a pond or something like that.?. OK...maybe my ideas sound a little hokey, but I figured I'd extend some thought.

We will be forwarding the idea leg of the contest to posting the glass dash pattern on April 15th. We're doing this in respect for AOG's running contest that has been extended to the 14th of April. If you are currently active in the contest over at AOG, best wishes with your entry. There are some fine prizes so get em done! Thanks, Gary SGV Admin Added as of 10 pm 3/22: It appears AOG they bumped it up again 2 weeks. If I keep this up I'll go nuts. Our contest will start as of April 15 as promised. I hope everyone can juggle the two who are entering both. We promise an exciting event for our glass dash leg. From contests in the past this can be the most fun by far. A newsletter will be sent with the pattern so everyone gets an equal chance to enter. I am also looking forward to the most creative work for this design which will adorn the cover of my new book. I hope the photo is nice Just kidding! I plan on doing a final review all of the pattern suggestions by 4/7 and will post the pattern by 4/15 to begin the dash contest. Once a winner comes forward with their 1st finished stained glass piece from dash leg of the contest we'll go right into the "most creative" event that will finalize with a member vote midnight 5/30. Now remember... You can enter all 3 events! Suggest a theme, get it done the quickest and or make it worthy of a book cover. I'm looking forward to seeing all of the terrific work you guys contribute and wish you the best of luck both here and at AOG.

As a new member to this forum, I would like to see something designed about musicality such as guitars, pianos, banjos, etc. Hard to come by patterns in that genre!

Here's somthing I've been thinking about doing; several painters here in Hawaii do a version of "above and below Hawaii". Basicly a design that is divided across the center, with the bottom half being below the water line with fish and coral. The upper half usually has some tropical hills, and maybe a small waterfall, fading off into the background. The dividing line is the surface of the watter. I probably didn't explain it very well, but the painting's are very striking.

Well, now that Spring is just about here, what about a Summer theme? Anything that conjures up visions of summer! (summer fruit, vacations, fireworks, day at the beach, etc)

I was thinking about a pattern that shows the changing seasons. The pattern lines could flow from one section to the next drawing the viewer's eye along the journey. It could be a large circle with four sections or four panels side by side etc.

I also like musical instruments as "Center Motifs". Here's an example...

I love this idea. I have seen so many requests for patterns for the seasons in the past on differing boards. There must not be many out there.
