Just wanted to share how aggressive shadowing can be done in a single firing when you don't mix in gum arabic. Just finished this latest Holy Spirit panel using this technique...
Gum and vinegar used for a paint vehicle works great for fine trace lines and a nicer glaze but if you are looking to remove the dried paint easily just use clean tap water. When dry the paint literally can be blown off the glass. I use a very fine and soft badger brush using light taps vertically until I get the desired shading. At times I also have used a small stencil (dry) brush for more detail or smaller areas.
The firing comes out in a nice satin to semi gloss finish.
The Holy Spirit has 4 pieces of glass. The trace lines were done with TBB and vinegar and fired prior to the matting.

I don't know what you are talking about, either, but that piece simply blows me away. I get goose bumps looking at it. What a talent you have.
